Take the whole family out on the town for a great meal. When you feel like spoiling everyone, including yourself, Mobile, AL is the perfect city to be in. With its nearly endless choices of dining establishments, you’ll have no trouble finding good family restaurants. We’ve written down a few of our first choices below.

Big Time Diner

Dine here at 4936 Cottage Hill Rd. for lunch and enjoy apps, homemade soups, burgers, and sandwiches. We suggest starting with an order of fried green tomatoes. Then order Leon’s seafood gumbo soup and a house salad. For your meal, try the Philly cheese steak sandwich or a cheeseburger. For the kids, order the Jhonny burger, the chicken fingers, or the fried fish. Be sure to finish off your meal with the homemade peach cobbler a la mode.

Butch Cassidy’s Cafe

This eatery features traditional American foods in a cozy setting. Start with an order of the waffle fries, which the kids will love, or the Telluride Rooster fingers. For your meal, we recommend the Southpaw shrimp super salad paired with the Famous Butch burger. They also offer daily specials Monday through Friday, which you can order any time of day. And the kids will like mac and cheese or chicken tenders. They are at 60 N Florida St.

Mama’s On Dauphin

Relax in this modern bistro for a Southern meal of seafood, jambalaya, steak, chicken, pork chops, and more. We recommend the buffalo crawfish or the fried green tomatoes for the table to start. Then try the blackened chicken wrap or the seafood platter. Another good option is the daily entree, which comes with two or three sides starting at just $9.95. The kids will get their fill on a cheeseburger or chicken strips. They are located at 220 Dauphin St.

Ruby Slipper Cafe

Get your first meal of the day here at this colorful cafe, located at 100 N Royal St. The adults can sip on a mimosa while everyone checks out the menu. We suggest the French toast bites, the Lil Champion platter, the cinnamon swirl pancake, or the biscuit slider for the little ones. For the grown-ups, have the corned beef benedict, the Costa Rican specialty, the Southern breakfast, or the salmon and avocado toast. Please drink responsibly and in moderation.
